Did the woman enter Paradise because she gave water to a dog, or did God grant her guidance and repentance?

Allah Almighty forgave a man and a prostitute because they gave water to a dog that was panting from thirst, as a reward for their mercy and compassion. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "In every wet liver there is a reward," and "The merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on earth and the One in the heavens will be merciful to you." Forgiveness may indicate the acceptance of a deed or entry into Paradise. Allah Almighty forgives all sins except polytheism (shirk).
