Is it obligatory for a girl to abandon seeking Islamic knowledge and memorizing the Quran online in order to sit with her healthy parents and serve the home?

Filial piety is manifested in achieving what pleases and makes one's parents happy, because their contentment is from the contentment of Allah Almighty. If a son's sitting with his parents makes them happy, then that is an act of piety, as long as this sitting does not hinder a religious obligation upon the son.

Religious knowledge is divided into obligatory and supererogatory: 1. Obligatory knowledge: It is not permissible for a son to abandon seeking it, even if it conflicts with his parents' desire for him to sit with them. However, he must reconcile between the two by not angering them. 2. Supererogatory knowledge: Such as increasing memorization of the Qur'an or deepening understanding of the religion, one should strive for it while being gentle with parents, managing their emotions, and not angering them. This is because obeying them by abandoning a non-obligatory act of obedience to Allah is done through managing their emotions.

Serving parents and pleasing them is among the best acts of obedience and the most important reasons for entering Paradise. This piety is further emphasized if the parents are elderly.
