Is the money given by the bank as a gift to customers, and which I receive monthly from the employment office, unlawful (haram)? And is it permissible for me to receive 490 dirhams every six months from the bank in Morocco to help my disabled cousin and his family, instead of leaving it for the bank to benefit from, knowing that I do not expect any reward for it?
If the bank is usurious and benefits from salaries being deposited with it before the end of the month to use them for interest-based lending, then it is not permissible to accept a gift in exchange for depositing one's salary there, because that is considered a loan that draws a benefit, which is usury (riba). It is not permissible to deal with a usurious bank, even by opening a current account, except in cases of extreme necessity. As for the money earned from the Moroccan bank in exchange for the deposit, it is pure usury, and one must repent, withdraw the money from the usurious bank, deposit it in an Islamic bank, and dispose of the unlawful money by giving it to the poor and needy.
