What is the religious ruling concerning a man who seeks divorce before consummation and refuses to grant it unless the dowry and gifts are returned, knowing that he is the one who sought the divorce, is a drug addict, and does not pray?

If a man divorces his wife before consummation, she is entitled to half of the agreed-upon mahr, unless one of them waives their share. If the husband entirely abandons prayer, some scholars consider him an infidel, while the majority differentiate between abandoning it out of denial and abandoning it out of laziness. If the husband requests the annulment of the contract due to lack of compatibility, the wife is not entitled to any mahr and must return his gifts. Disputes are referred to the Sharia court.
