How can I be among the virtuous and the saints of Allah so that Allah may bless me with a beautiful voice, enabling me to lead people in prayer, knowing that Allah often answers my prayers?

The Awliya' (friends of God) are the believing, pious individuals who fulfill both the obligatory and supererogatory acts of worship, and who are mindful of God in all their states. Their limbs and actions are in obedience to God. This is the station of Ihssan (excellence), through which they attain God's love and divine enabling. As for eagerness for leadership without a legitimate religious purpose, it is a chronic ailment that frustrates good deeds, for it may lead to ostentation and love of prominence. A servant should rather busy himself with steadfastness upon God's command instead of seeking karamat (miraculous graces) or supplicating for something already decreed or impossible, and should suffice himself with the comprehensive supplications from the Quran and Sunnah.
