Whoever is certain of divorce but doubts its wording, only one divorce falls upon his wife. And whoever doubts the number of divorces, he bases it on the lesser number. If he doubts whether he divorced twice or thrice, only two divorces fall, because any amount exceeding the certain number is a doubtful divorce.
