How can the error of having sex with the wife's female relative be rectified and atoned for, and is it permissible to perform a hymenoplasty to mend the matter?

Adultery is one of the major sins that entail severe consequences in this world and the Hereafter. Allah has associated it with polytheism and killing a soul in the Holy Quran, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, emphasized its gravity. The sin increases if the adulterer is married or commits adultery with a forbidden relative (mahram). The perpetrator must hasten to sincere repentance, increase in seeking forgiveness, and supplicate. Furthermore, hymen reconstruction (hymenoplasty) is not permissible. The girl must offer sincere repentance to Allah so that He may grant her a way out and provision.
