What is the ruling on submitting a forged proof of residency to obtain a job, knowing that the perpetrator was ignorant of the ruling and is now employed?

It is not permissible to lie or falsify in obtaining a certificate to get a job, and one must repent from that. If residency is an essential condition for employment, then the truth must be clarified to the employer.
