What is the Sharīʿah ruling on a dispute between a husband and his wife's father, knowing that the wife is trying to reconcile, but her father was instigating problems, and now her husband refuses to speak with him, and her father blames her for not resolving the disagreement? And what should the wife do to resolve this dispute? And is she sinful?

The scholars are in agreement that if the legitimate marriage contract has been concluded and the husband has paid the Mahr (dowry), then it is impermissible for the woman's guardian or for the wife herself to prevent him from consummating the marriage. If the husband has paid the Mahr, and then the father insists on preventing the wedding, he is mistaken and unjust. The wife can remind her husband of the virtue of forgiveness and forbearance, and have someone who can influence him mediate. She should ask her father to improve his treatment of her husband. She must adopt a gentle and kind approach and be careful not to cause any instability in her marital life.
