What is the ruling regarding the actions of a wife who uses disrespectful language towards her husband, refuses to speak with him, and threatens him with seeking a divorce and demanding money, especially knowing that she lives with irreligious maternal uncles?

A wife's refusal to speak to her husband is a sign of ill manners and an unpraiseworthy character. Her situation should be handled wisely, and her requests should be met within the limits of financial ability, provided they do not involve anything forbidden. Her parents should advise and guide her to obey her husband, explaining that she will be rewarded for doing so and will incur sin by neglecting it. Her demand for a divorce without a valid Shar’i reason is a disobedience, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any strong reason, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her." Her threatening with divorce is futile, because divorce is in the hand of the husband. A husband's absence from his wife for more than six months without her consent is a violation of the Shari'ah.
