What is the ruling on a person changing his name to obtain Saudi citizenship through his maternal uncle so that he can marry a Saudi girl whose family stipulates that their daughter's husband must hold Saudi citizenship?

Attributing oneself to someone other than one's biological father in official documents is religiously forbidden due to the falsehood it entails and the potential harms that may result, such as the confusion of lineages and the loss of rights. Sheikh Ibn 'Uthaymeen explicitly stated its prohibition, clarifying that it is one of the major sins, combining falsehood, unlawful acquisition of wealth, and attributing oneself to other than one's father, given the legal rulings that stem from it, such as inheritance and the rules of mahramiyyah (prohibition of marriage). Whoever has done this must revert to the truth and destroy the false documents.
