What is your guidance for someone suffering from scoliosis and a prominent shoulder blade, which has caused him obsessive doubts and chronic anxiety that it is a punishment for previous sins or due to wrongful practices, and he asks how to get rid of these obsessive doubts and anxiety?
Tribulation comes in both good and evil; it is a punishment, a purification, and a test. The believer is rewarded in every situation, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Wondrous is the affair of the believer, for there is nothing but good in all his affairs. This is not the case for anyone except the believer. If prosperity befalls him, he is grateful, and that is good for him. And if adversity befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him." The Muslim should be content with Allah's decree and take the necessary means to remove harm. To counter obsessive whispers (waswasah), it is recommended to seek refuge in Allah, constantly remember Him, maintain performance of obligatory prayers and supererogatory acts, and recite the morning and evening remembrances. Visiting a trustworthy Muslim psychiatrist might also be beneficial.
