Is it permissible to remain in a job that prevents one from performing the Friday prayer, given the distance of the mosque and the circumstances of the economic crisis?

Friday prayer is not obligatory for a resident outside the town if he does not hear the call (adhan). However, if he is residing within a town where Friday prayer is not established, but there is a number of settled Muslims, then it becomes incumbent upon them to establish it. If Friday prayer is established in the town, then the default rule is the obligation to attend it. However, an exemption may be granted for not attending due to an excuse, such as an employee hired to guard property that is feared to spoil, or if his employer prevents him from attending despite his need for the work. In such a case, there is no blame upon him, while he should seek another job that allows him to attend Friday prayer.
