Is it permissible to read the Quran from the internet without Wudu, and will its reciter be rewarded?

It is permissible to read the Quran from the internet without ablution (wudu'), because it does not involve touching the Mushaf (physical copy of the Quran). Minor ritual impurity (al-hadath al-asghar) does not prevent one from reading the Quran, based on the saying of Ali, may Allah be pleased with him: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to teach us the Quran in all circumstances, as long as he was not in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah)." And based on the saying of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to remember Allah at all times."

As for whether its reciter will be rewarded, that is an unseen matter known only to Allah. However, the reciter should strive to fulfill the two conditions for the acceptance of deeds: sincerity to Allah and following the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). It is incumbent upon a Muslim to be accompanied by the fear that deeds may not be accepted due to shortcomings in them or corruption in one's intention.

A Muslim's concealment of sins and not boasting about them is a desirable matter, which the Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged by saying: "All of my Ummah will be forgiven except for those who boast of their sins." There is a difference between one who conceals his bad deeds out of shyness before Allah and people, and one who pretends to be righteous but does not act accordingly. The first is praised, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Shyness is all good." The second is condemned, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "The one who claims to have what he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood."
