Is it permissible for women to perform the Sunan of Fitra during menstruation?

A menstruating woman is not prohibited from performing the Sunan al-Fitra (practices of natural disposition), maintaining cleanliness, or adorning herself, because she is like other women. She is only prohibited from prayer, fasting, circumambulation (Tawaf (definition)), touching the Mushaf (definition) (copy of the Qur’an), entering the mosque, and sexual intercourse. It is permissible for a menstruating woman to apply henna, as the basic ruling for it is permissibility, and there is no authentic religious text prohibiting it. The practices of Sunan al-Fitra are linked to need, so a menstruating woman is not prohibited from trimming her nails or cutting her hair, because the duration of menstruation can be prolonged. The belief that one who is in a state of major ritual impurity (janaba) should not remove any of their hair or nails is a false belief with no basis. It is established that a believer does not become impure (najis), and the Prophet, peace be upon him, commanded converts to Islam to perform ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) and remove the hair of disbelief without delay. A menstruating woman is also commanded to comb her hair during her ghusl, even though combing causes some hair to fall out.
