What is the expiation for someone who swore three oaths and broke them, knowing that she fasted for one oath and forgot what she swore about in the other two oaths? Can she intend to fast for the second oath and then the third?

Scholars have differed regarding one who breaks multiple oaths: whether multiple expiations (kaffarat) are required or if only one expiation is binding upon him. This expiation consists of feeding ten needy persons, or clothing them, or emancipating a slave. If one cannot find any of these, then fasting for three days. One should not resort to fasting except after being unable to feed, clothe, or emancipate. The intention for expiation is sufficient without specifying for which oath one is expiating.
