Is it permissible for a woman to go out to a female doctor without her husband's permission to treat severe pain that prevents her from doing her household chores, especially after her husband had initially agreed but then swore an oath that she should not go out at all due to a family dispute?

A husband is not permitted to prevent his wife from seeking treatment from a female doctor, unless he prevents her from a specific doctor for a reason, in which case she can go to another. If he absolutely forbids her, she is permitted to leave even without his permission. However, it is advisable to proceed cautiously and attempt to resolve the disagreement, unless delaying treatment would cause harm. If the husband swears by Allah that she will not leave and she does, then he must offer expiation for breaking an oath. As for if he swears by divorce and she leaves, a suspended divorce occurs according to the majority of scholars, while some consider it an oath that requires expiation.
