Can the حل of بلاء be accomplished by a miracle in this era, or has the age of miracles ended?

Allah is capable of all things and of breaking the norm for whomever He wills. However, the most important thing is how to repel affliction. Your friend should turn to Allah with supplication and humility, certain that all good is in His hands, and that none but Him can remove evil. Nothing is beyond Allah, and He is capable of lifting the affliction without him losing his memory, in accordance with His Almighty saying: "Is not He who responds to the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes evil?" and His saying: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you."
