Does anything accrue to me if I used a scented deodorant before I exited my state of ihram, out of ignorance of the ruling?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible for a person in a state of ihram to use perfume on his body or clothes. This includes perfumed deodorants, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying concerning the muhrim whose she-camel killed him: "And do not touch him with perfume." The scholars have unanimously agreed on prohibiting a muhrim from using perfume. However, if someone uses it out of forgetfulness or ignorance, there is no penalty upon him.
