Does smelling the scent of perfume or air freshener on hotel furniture invalidate the state of ihram and necessitate expiation?

A pilgrim in the state of ihram must avoid perfuming their body and clothes. Perfuming is one of the prohibitions of ihram, and perfume includes what is customarily prepared for perfuming, such as musk and oud. However, apples and mint are not considered perfume. The prohibition covers perfume on any part of the body or clothing, and this also includes sitting or sleeping on a perfumed mattress. If the pilgrim places a barrier between themselves and the perfumed mattress, there is no harm. However, if the mattress they slept or sat on was perfumed without a barrier, then a fidyah (expiatory offering) is due. As for entering a perfumed room, there is no harm in it if there is a need, as long as there is no intention of smelling the fragrance, and smelling it unintentionally is not prohibited.
