And does this fall under the category of "knowledge from which benefit is derived" if the website is frequented by master's and doctoral researchers?

Literature, its good is good and its bad is bad. So, whatever of it is in the service of Islam and Muslims, or encourages noble morals, is permissible, even desirable, and hoped to fall under the general category of "knowledge from which benefit is derived." And whatever of it contains propaganda for immorality or atheism is forbidden. As for what is neither of these, it is idle talk that should be abandoned.
