Was the Prophet's use of perfume - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - to expel Satan, and what type of perfume did he use?

There is no authentic evidence proving that the reason for the Prophet's ﷺ use of perfume was to ward off Shaytan (the devil). Scholars have mentioned other reasons for his love of perfume, including:

That perfume and women strengthen the soul, unlike food and drink. That he used to commune with angels, and they love perfume. That his love for perfume stemmed from the moderation of his temperament and the perfection of his creation. That perfume opens the soul, gladdens the heart, and pleases the companion.

The Prophet ﷺ used various types of perfumes and disliked any unpleasant odor emanating from him.
