How can I change my husband's behavior as he stays up watching pornography and explicit films even before Fajr prayer, knowing that I cannot stay up with him due to my diligence in performing Fajr prayer, and I am not negligent in fulfilling his rights? Am I sinful for refusing to stay up with him to watch these films? Does watching these images and films nullify good deeds, as stated in the Hadith: "I certainly know peoples from my Ummah who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the white mountains of Tihamah, and Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, will make them like scattered dust. Thawban said: 'O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us, clarify them for us so that we do not become among them while we do not know.' He said: 'Indeed, they are your brothers and from your own kind, and they take from the night as you take, but they are people who, when they are alone with the prohibitions of Allah, violate them'"?

Watching these movies is among the forbidden acts and major sins, due to their inclusion of prohibitions and the viewing of non-mahram women's awrah (private parts). It is not permissible for a woman to obey her husband in watching them, because there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. She must advise him and remind him of the impermissibility of these abominable acts, and seek help from people of knowledge and goodness to advise him, and frequently supplicate for him, because watching these abominable acts may lead to the nullification of good deeds and the destruction of good merits, as Allah Almighty said: "O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and do not invalidate your deeds." (Quran 47:33) And because of the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "I certainly know peoples from my Ummah who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the white mountains of Tihamah, but Allah will make them like scattered dust. Indeed, they are your brothers and from your skin, and they take from the night as you take, but they are a people who, when they are alone with Allah's prohibitions, violate them."
