How do we respond to those who find it problematic to name Allah Almighty "The Arrogant" (Al-Mutakabbir) and claim that this attribute is blameworthy and does not befit Allah?

The attributes of Allah Almighty concerning created beings are of three types: perfection in the Creator and the created, such as hearing and sight; perfection in the created and imperfection in the Creator, such as sleep and eating; and imperfection in the created and perfection in the Creator, such as arrogance (al-takabbur) and tyranny (al-tajabbur). The term "Al-Mutakabbir" (The Arrogant/The Supremely Great) when referring to Allah Almighty has been interpreted in several ways, among them: that He is the One who is too great for any evil, or too great to wrong His servants, or the Possessor of Grandeur and Sovereignty, or the One who is exalted above the attributes of creation, or the One who shows His greatness to the rebellious among His creation. Indeed, "Arrogance (al-Kibriya') is My cloak, and Grandeur (al-Azamah) is My lower garment; whoever disputes with Me concerning either of them, I will break him, then cast him into the Fire."
