Is it permissible to ask a teacher about his academic experience and the difficulties he faced in his life?

It is permissible for a male teacher to teach female students and for them to ask him questions, provided that the Islamic guidelines are observed: there must be a barrier preventing the sight of individuals, there should be no private seclusion (khalwa), the conversation should be limited to matters of the lesson, there should be no soft speech (khudoo' bil-qawl) or speaking in an enticing manner, avoiding perfume when going out, and adhering to the modest hijab. The evidence for this permissibility is the attendance of the female Companions at the Prophet's sermons and their questioning of him, while they adhered to the guidelines.
