What should a person do when overcome by feelings that cause agitation over simple actions that do not provoke others? And is it permissible to seclude oneself with someone who has previously committed such actions?
We ask Allah to grant you well-being, forgiveness, purification, and protection. If you fear fitna (temptation leading to sin) from being alone with the person you mentioned, then it is forbidden. Otherwise, it is permissible. We advise you to seek refuge in Allah and make sincere repentance, and to hasten to marry if you are not married. If you are unable, then you must fast. Adhere to reciting the Qur'an and performing Salat (prayer) with khushu' (devotion and humility), for it prohibits fahsha' (indecency) and munkar (evil), as Allah the Almighty said: "Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do." (Al-Ankabut: 45). Ponder the Book of Allah and the warnings it contains for the disobedient.
