Is a daughter sleeping next to her sick father, who is over fifty years old and suffers from multiple illnesses, on the same bed in order to help him take medicine and care for him, considered forbidden in Islam?

It is preferable for the daughter not to sleep in the same bed with her mother. Her sleeping in the same room on a separate bed is sufficient to fulfill the need, because sleep time is for rest and relaxation, and it might arouse desires, with the possibility of the 'awrah being exposed. However, it is permissible for her to sleep with her mother in the same bed under certain conditions: no touching, tight clothing to ensure the 'awrah is not exposed, safety from temptation, and each having a separate cover; based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Command your children to pray when they are seven years old, and beat them for it when they are ten years old, and separate them in their beds." Separation in beds is achieved by each having a bed, or by being in the same bed but separated and not touching.
