Tips paid to government employees for processing transactions are forbidden bribes. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the briber, the bribed, and the intermediary. An exception is made if the transaction seeker has a right to its completion but is unjustly prevented, and cannot obtain their right except by paying money; in this case, there is no sin upon them, and the sin falls upon the receiving employee. As for an employee working in an office that deals with bribery, there is no harm if their work is limited to permissible tasks unrelated to bribery, although it is safer to leave such a job. However, if their work necessitates assisting in bribery, it is not permissible, due to the Almighty's saying: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression." It is permissible for an employee to continue in a forbidden job in cases of necessity.
