Is taking money in exchange for expediting the processing of labor transactions at overseas employment agencies, where the money is divided between the intermediary and the employee who completes the transaction, considered a sin?

It is impermissible to give money to an employee who is tasked with performing a duty, because it falls under the category of gifts to employees which are forbidden by Islamic law. If the money is in exchange for completing a duty for which he already receives a salary for his work, then he is not entitled to it. And if it is in exchange for favoritism and prioritizing the payer's work over others, it is also prohibited due to the favoritism and injustice involved. Imam Al-Bukhari dedicated a chapter in his Sahih titled "Chapter: Gifts to Employees," and he mentioned the hadith of Abu Humayd Al-Sa'idi, where the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disapproved of an employee taking a gift, claiming it was for him, and said: "What is wrong with an employee whom we send, and he comes and says: 'This is for you and this is for me?' Why did he not sit in the house of his father and mother and see if he would be given a gift or not?" The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta' has issued a fatwa stating that giving money to an employee in exchange for expediting a transaction is a forbidden bribe, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who gives a bribe and the one who takes it.
