This habit is forbidden due to its blameworthiness and its harm in religious matters, in this world, and in the hereafter. Whoever is afflicted by it must strive against their self to abandon it. Among the most important things that help in getting rid of it are: turning to Allah the Almighty and supplicating Him earnestly, contemplating Allah's names and attributes, and reflecting on the Last Day, Paradise, and Hellfire. Also, associating with the righteous, attending gatherings of knowledge and remembrance, and avoiding the company of evil people and watching anything that incites lust. If the sin recurs, one should not despair of repentance. Whoever practices this habit during the daytime in Ramadan and semen is discharged, their fast is invalidated, and they must make up for the days on which they committed this act.
