Is it permissible for a Quranic healer to give out numbers next to which is the name "Al-Maniʿ" (The Preventer) as protection from sorcery, and what is the ruling on using Jinn in treatment?
It is not permissible for a Qur'anic healer to perform ruqyah (exorcism/healing) with numbers or other things whose meanings are not understood, nor to give them to the patient. The permissible ruqyah is performed with the names of Allah Almighty and His Book, and with words whose meaning is understood and which contain no polytheism, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There is no harm in ruqyah as long as it does not contain polytheism." Similarly, it is not permissible to use jinn in treatment.
