What is the greatest hadith concerning the virtues of deeds?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Perhaps the greatest hadith regarding the virtues of deeds is what was narrated by Ahmad, An-Nasa'i, Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi, and others from Aws ibn Aws Ath-Thaqafi, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Whoever washes and performs ghusl on Friday, and comes early and is present from the beginning, and walks and does not ride, and draws near to the Imam and listens and does not engage in idle talk, for every step he takes, he will have the reward of a year's worth of fasting and prayer." It has been said: "We have not heard in the Sharia a sound hadith that includes such a reward."
