Does sitting to hear news that contains mention of man-made laws, such as the desire to seek judgment from the United Nations, fall under what Allah has forbidden with His saying: "And He has already revealed to you in the Book..."?

The sitting that is prohibited in the verse refers to sitting in complacency and agreement with those who disbelieve in Allah's verses and mock them. However, whoever sits to refute them or to learn about their news in order to warn people and expose their deviation is a defender of the religion. As for someone who sits in a gathering of sin and does not object to them, he shares in their sin, and he should leave them if he cannot object.
