The answer

What we believe is that you should proceed with the for your daughter if you are able. This is to attain its reward and to avoid the disagreement of those who consider it obligatory, and because your daughter's right takes precedence over your sister's right, and due to what is mentioned in the noble regarding the encouragement of the aqiqah. Indeed, Hanbali jurists even said that if one does not have the means to perform the aqiqah, they may borrow to do so, provided they can repay it; otherwise, they should not borrow. Furthermore, the aqiqah does not cost much money. You can be economical and limit yourself to the sufficient amount, and then contribute the remaining amount to your father as a contribution to your sister's dowry.
