Is upholding kinship ties and honoring one’s parents considered unlawful or lawful if done with a worldly intention or without any intention, especially since they are not acts of pure worship that necessitate intention?

Non-purely devotional matters performed for a worldly purpose are not sinful. The doer is rewarded if he intends thereby the countenance of Allah and worldly benefits simultaneously. The reward is greater if the intention is purely for Allah.
