Are the acts of worship of one who severs ties of kinship accepted, and if not, what is the benefit of performing them?

Cutting off kinship ties is a major sin, and there is a concern that the scales of one's sins might outweigh their good deeds. There are two types of nullification: a complete nullification of one thing by another (like faith nullifying disbelief), and a nullification by balancing, where good deeds and bad deeds are placed on a scale. Therefore, the one who cuts off kinship ties is subject to Allah's will if they do not repent. Performing acts of worship absolves them of their duty and makes them closer to receiving mercy and forgiveness than those who do not perform them. However, the best is the repentant individual who turns to Allah.
