Is what happened in the mosque, in terms of discord during the last ten days of Ramadan, due to Satan or to ourselves, and does Satan have an influence in Ramadan?

Some scholars are of the opinion that it is the rebellious devils (maradat ash-shayatin) that are chained during Ramadan, not all devils.

Sins have other causes besides the whispers of Satan, such as the self that incites to evil (an-nafs al-ammarah bi as-soo').

Discord among Muslims is dangerous, and Allah has warned against it, saying: "And do not dispute, lest you lose courage and your strength depart."

And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against ill feelings between people, describing it as "the shaver" (al-haliqah).

One must be wary of discord and keen on fostering harmony among Muslims, and mosques must be kept free from such actions.
