What is the authenticity and meaning of the Hadith: "And whoever seeks self-sufficiency, Allah makes him self-sufficient; and whoever seeks contentment, Allah makes him content; and whoever seeks patience, Allah makes him patient"?

The hadith is authentic and agreed upon. Its meaning is that whoever refrains from begging, trains himself to abandon it, and perseveres in doing so, Allah will grant him chastity, enrich him, and strengthen him. He will make patience the best and most abundant gift, for it encompasses the noblest of attributes and states.
