What is the way for me to become a good believer in a land of disbelief, given that I delay my prayers due to my studies?

A person's religion is their capital, and it is obligatory for a Muslim to preserve it by avoiding what might destroy it. It is advised not to remain in lands of disbelief without necessity or a compelling benefit, such as da'wah (proselytizing) or medical treatment. Studying is not a justification for this, as those lands are rife with the trials of doubts and desires. It is recommended to recite the Quran, frequent mosques and Islamic centers, and keep company with the righteous. It is not permissible to delay prayer beyond its prescribed time for the sake of studying. If it is impossible to continue studying while preserving prayer, then studying must be abandoned.
