Is it permissible to visit female relatives who do not pray and who appear with their adornment and ordinary clothing?

Maintaining kinship ties is something the Sacred Law encourages and warns against severing. A Muslim's interactions with his non-mahram female relatives are subject to the regulations of the Sacred Law. He should not be alone with them, shake their hands, or look at what is impermissible for him to look at of them, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "I have not left behind me a trial more harmful to men than women," and "No man should be alone with a woman unless she has a mahram with her." Maintaining kinship ties is obligatory even if the relative is a disbeliever or a transgressor, unless severing ties would deter him from his transgression. Part of maintaining kinship ties includes inviting them to obedience, enjoining good, forbidding evil, and providing financial assistance. However, sitting with them while they are immodestly dressed and looking at their awrat is not permissible.
