Was the daughter obligated to obey her father when he asked her to leave her home after her mother's death so that he could marry another, and is she considered sinful for refusing? A father must financially support his daughter who has no money until she gets married. If the daughter earns enough from her work to be independent of her father's financial support, he is not obligated to pay for her housing, unless it is a voluntary donation from him. For a father to be obligated to provide financial support, his children must be poor, having no money or earnings that would make them independent. If they are well-off due to money or earnings, then they are not entitled to financial support.

Filial piety towards parents is obligatory in all circumstances and is among the greatest obligations. Delayed marriage is a divine decree from among Allah's decrees, and one must entrust the matter to Him, have a good opinion of Him, and make abundant supplications. It is permissible for a woman to offer herself in marriage to a righteous man, according to Islamic guidelines.
