What is the ruling on my prayers and fasting during past years in which I performed ghusl and wudu without saying "Bismillah," due to my ignorance, and what should I do in the future to say "Bismillah" during ghusl despite the obstacle of performing ghusl in the bathroom, and will a person be held accountable for prohibitions they committed out of ignorance due to their negligence in learning fiqh?

Reciting the Basmala (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful) at the beginning of ghusl (ritual bath) and wudu (ablution) is recommended by the majority of scholars. Omitting it does not affect the validity of the purification, prayer, or fasting. However, one should endeavor to recite it in the future. As for fasting, starting with the Basmala is neither among its obligations nor its Sunnahs, nor is purification a condition for its validity. A Muslim must learn what rectifies their creed and acts of worship. Whoever neglects this is disobedient. As for one who exerted their effort in learning but then fell into a sin due to ignorance of the ruling, they are hoped to be forgiven.
