Is purchasing a car, traveling, or undertaking personal matters without the consent of an angry father—knowing that there has been no shortcoming in obeying and pleasing him—considered an act of disobedience to parents (ʿuqūq)?

If the son is an adult of sound judgment, he has the right to dispose of his money and buy whatever he wishes without seeking his father's permission. Likewise, he is permitted to undertake safe travel for a beneficial purpose, and this is not considered disobedience (uquq). If the son's sound judgment is established, the father has no right to prevent him from what benefits him religiously or worldly. Nevertheless, the son must show filial piety to his father and strive to gain his satisfaction, for the satisfaction of Allah lies in the satisfaction of the father.
