Is the "stray" mentioned in the noble Hadith: "If you see a man announcing a lost item in the mosque, say: 'May Allah not return it to you'," intended only to mean animals, or does it also include losing a wallet, a child, or important papers that are announced with a loudspeaker in the mosque, even if that is at times when there are no worshippers?

The Sunnah indicates the prohibition of announcing lost property in the mosque, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "Whoever hears a man announcing lost property in the mosque, let him say: 'May Allah not return it to you, for mosques were not built for this.'"

This prohibition includes anything lost and is not exclusive to animals. As for announcing a lost child, our fatwa allows it for the child's preservation, while some scholars, due to the generality of the hadith, are of the opinion that it is not permissible.

Announcing lost property with a loudspeaker falls under the prohibition because mosques were not built for this purpose, and raising one's voice in them is disliked.
