Is it permissible for a man to hold his wife's hand in a public place?

There is no harm in a man holding his wife's hand in any place. However, it is not advisable to hold her hand for pleasure in public or private places when others are present. Nor should this be done in public places if there are those who do not know they are married, in order to avoid suspicion and ill-conjecture, for the Muslim is commanded to stay away from situations that cause doubt.
