Will the wife who disobeys her husband, who does not fear God in her or their children, enter Hellfire? And are the righteous man and the wicked man equal in the warning, "Any woman who dies while her husband is pleased with her will enter Paradise"?

A wife is obligated to obey her husband in what is good, as stated in many prophetic traditions. Among these are that angels curse a wife who refuses her husband's bed until morning, and that a wife's obedience to her husband, along with performing her obligatory duties, is a cause for her entering Paradise through whichever gate she wishes. Nevertheless, a wife is not permitted to obey her husband in what Allah has forbidden; for there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. As for the matter of a righteous man and a wicked man being equal, they are not equal. A woman should address her husband's disobedience gently and explain his error to him. If he does not respond, she should seek help from brothers and relatives.
