The answer

Going to Mina on the Day of Tarwiyah is a Sunnah (prophetic tradition), as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did so, and he prayed Dhuhr and Asr there, shortened but not combined, then Maghrib and Isha, shortened, and then he prayed Fajr and departed for Arafat. Whoever goes directly to Arafat on the ninth day, their Hajj is valid, but they have forsaken the Sunnah. Standing at Arafat is a pillar of Hajj, based on the Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Hajj is Arafat." The pilgrim should emulate the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the obligatory acts and Sunnahs of Hajj, to attain "A Hajj that is accepted has no reward other than Paradise."
