Is the saying: "Even if the trees of the world were pens, and the oceans ink, and humans and jinn were scribes, they would not enumerate the virtues of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace" considered excessive?
Our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is the Seal of the Prophets and the master of the children of Adam. He possesses great virtues established by the Qur’an and , such as being the one granted the Grand Intercession, the Praised Station (Al-Maqam Al-Mahmud), and the first to enter Paradise. However, the claim that he has unrecorded or unknown virtues is clear exaggeration and a forbidden excess. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade exalting him excessively, saying: "Do not exalt me as the Christians exalted the son of Mary. Indeed, I am only His servant, so say: 'The servant of Allah and His Messenger.'" This is because exaltation is excessive praise or false praise, and it is a statement about Allah without knowledge. Exaggeration in praise is an transgression and a sin.
