What is the ruling on freelance work with commission deals in the field of information technology, and buying and selling internet services? Is the profit gained from this halal or haram? What is the ruling on paying commissions to employees of contracting companies to accept our offers? Is it permissible for an employee to take this commission? And is this buying and trading halal if the contracts are concluded between companies and are binding?

There is no objection to taking a fee for facilitating the buying and selling of internet services. The permissibility of this fee being a known percentage of the profit is held by some scholars, and it is a strong opinion favored by Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, who considered it a type of "Ju'alah" (commission/reward) where the compensation may be a common share of what is obtained from the work.

As for the commission given to the company representative, it is not permissible to give it to him without the knowledge and approval of his company, because an employee is not allowed to take a commission for his contracted work unless the employer permits it. Nevertheless, the contracts and deals that were concluded are not affected by the validity of the commission paid to the representative, nor is there a need to cancel them, and the profits resulting from them are permissible.
