Is one Sa'y (ritual walk) between Safa and Marwah sufficient for the pilgrim performing Mutamatti' Hajj (combining Umrah and Hajj), or are two Sa'ys obligatory upon him?

The Mutamatti' (pilgrim performing Mut'ah Hajj) must perform two Sa'is (ritual brisk walking) between Safa and Marwah: one for 'Umrah and another for Hajj. This is supported by the Hadith of 'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), which indicates a second circumambulation for those who entered into Ihram for 'Umrah after returning from Mina, and this specifically applies to the Mutamatti'. It is also corroborated by the statement of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who mentioned two circumambulations for the Mutamatti'. As for the Hadith of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) which mentioned only one Sa'i, it is interpreted as referring to one who brought sacrificial animals (the Qarin), and the Qarin and Mufrid (pilgrim performing Ifrad Hajj) are only required to perform one Sa'i. This reconciliation aligns with all Hadiths and gives precedence to that which affirms over that which negates.
